About
519 Hockey Training is run by D.J. Turner, former Jr.B player of the year, CIS student athlete, European professional player and current elementary school teacher. D.J.'s unique combination of educational and playing experience ensures our athletes are provided with proper instruction AND correction while partaking in challenging and fun skill development drills. We like to blend the old with the new, staying up to date on the latest training methods while also integrating proven techniques to make sure our sessions are able to translate into success for our athletes in todays evolving game.

Fall Sessions 2025
1) Mondays 6:40-8 @ WFCU Bowl
Oct.6-Dec.15 (no ice Oct.13)
2) Tuesdays 5:40-7 @ WFCU BOWL
Oct. 7- Dec. 9
- Monday and Tuesday Fall skills are each 10 sessions and $500.
They are for 2016-2011 birth years along with 2017 travel players.
These will be themed sessions that will have a weekly focus. Each session will have approx. 30 mins of skating, 25 mins of puck control/shooting and 25 mins of combination/game application drills.
3) Wednesday Young Guns 4:55-5:45 @ Forest Glade
Oct.8- Dec.10 (10 sessions) $360 2020-2017
- These sessions will focus on the fundamental skills of skating, stickhandling, puck control and shooting. Skills will be progressed and built on as the session continues.
4) Thursdays 4:55-5:45 @ Forest Glade
Oct.9-Dec.11 (10 sessions) $360 2018-2013
-These sessions will have a weekly focus that will progres throughout the session.
Session 1-3 will be skating focused, sessions 4-6 stickhandling and puck control,
session 7-8 shooting, sessions 9-10 combination drills and game application.
Notes for Fall Sessions.
1. Multi Sibling Discount: 2nd/3rd child receive 25% off fall sessions
2.For all fall sessions, there is no refund for missed sessions. Make up sessions, within the fall when available will be offered if advanced notice is given.*
PD Day and Holiday Skates Fall 2025
Nov.14 Pd Day Battle Session $75
12:30-2:20 @ Tecumseh 2016-2011 (plus 2017 travel)
60 mins of skills related to winning battles, body positioning, puck protection, stick lifts, etc. Then 50 mins of small area games implementing these skills. Players will be grouped by age and skill level.
Holiday sessions
1. Dec 22 @ Vollmer in LaSalle
a) 8:30-9:20 Semi Private Session $100
- 2:1 ratio with 6 skater maximum. Players will work on skills requested by the individual.
b) 9:30-10:50 Young guns $60
- 2020-2017 skaters working on skating, puck handling and small area games.
c) 11-12:50 Defence skills $75 2016-2010
- defence specific drills inlcuding: defending in zone and off the rush, retrievals and breakouts, offensive blue line work, defense specific skating and skills.
d) 1-2:50 Total Skills $75 2016-2011
- 30 mins of skating, 30 mins of puck control, 30 mins of shooting, 20 mins of combination and small area games
2. Dec.23 @ Atlas Tube in Lakeshore
9-9:50 Semi Private Session $100
- 2:1 ratio with 6 skater maximum. Players will work on skills requested by the individual.
10-11:50 Girls only stickhandling, shooting and scoring $75
- Girls only skill session focusing on puck control, shooting and goal scoring strategies.
12:00-1:50 Defence skills $75 2016-2010
- players work on defence specific drills inlcuding: defending in zone and off the rush, retrievals and breakouts, offensive blue line work, defense specific skating and skills.
2:00-3:50 Total skills $75 2017-2011
